Kickin it in London for Christmas!

Just giving ya'll the update of where I'm at and what I'm doing right now. I've been very blessed to have an old friend find me here on Myspace and fly me to London for Christmas since I didn't have enough money to go home for the holidays! How awsome is that!

Anywhoo, I'll try to post more photo's and keep you posted on all the haps. I have to go cuz my friend needs the computer...more later!

I’S FREAKIN C..C,COLD!!!!

FOR THE LOVE!! It's FREAKIN COLD!!!!! What the heck?!?! I need a whole new wardrobe!!! The summer ended for me...around August 20th! I am layered- up girl these days! The weather is very confusing! It rained "right quick| this morning and then by the time I was leaving the sun was all bright & shinny...BUT...I've been fooled before and I packed an extra layer (Yaaaay Warner Bros. backpack!...) and the next thing I know....it's freezing cold again! BTW, I tried typing with mittens on....and let's just say...it didn't work....

For the love again!....is there anyone out there who can help me with my gmail account?!?!!! Someone sent me photo's and I wanted to post them here aaaand...attatch them to an email ON gmail, but nooooooo I couldn't do it! HEEEEELLLLLP!!!

Besides my little temper tantrum right now....things have been pretty good. Those of you NOT on my newsletter list: here's my partial update: my teaching schedule kicks in hardcore this monday, the 17th. Also, I got hired to front a local jazz band and our next gig is on October 24th! So please feel free to fly out and catch it! (ha!,Ha!!!)

I'm signing off, cuz I've been on this thing for about 2hours and I am thoroughly frusted now because I still haven't managed to add any pics. Please send, your suggestions.(except "go take a computer class!")

Wacky Times In Czech

Hey Dobrey Den Ya'll!

I think I spelled that wrong! I just wanted to stop by and give you a quick update. They are still working the wacky weather over here! One miniute hot the next storming....what the heck?!?

Anyhoo, I had a chance tp experience the "party street" area in the town center....what a hoot! Also watched a Czech film outside for free one night. That was cool! Folks seem to be pretty friendly here so far. They like it when you try to speak the language...although sometimes I get the feeling that they are saying in the back of their minds.."silly Americhanka!"....

I got my roommate saying "jacked up" and calling things "funk" Yaaaay...my bad habits rubbing off! I actually met some black folks! Two basketball players from the states (surprize,surprize.....) Their first game is on friday- they gave us free t-shirts so we are gonna go and support them...Yaaaay,my peeps!

I taught my first class this past monday! It went ok....every now and then I'd get a "deer-in -the-headlights" look. (love it!)

O.K. I gotta go, I'm being rude 'cuz my roommate is waiting for me to leave. I'll try to write again soon.

Czechin my time in Ostrava

This is gonna be quick cuz I'm on a time limit and an old computer.....and you all know I'm not computer savvy....

Anywhoo, I made it safetly to Ostrava, Czech Republic, I wrote a bulletin but maybe ya'll didn't catch it. I moved into my flat Sunday evening, Aug 19th. It's a nice big 2 bdrm apt sandwiched in between an industrial plant and train tracks...Yaaay! My roommate is MIA, so I've been in there all by myself...(I'd say "yaaay!" but it get's scary at night!...) We've been having storms just about everynight. The weather (in addition to the language..) is very confusing. I've already gotten sick (some kind of stomach bug...whoopie!) but I'm having a great time! I even have my first singing gig TOMORROW!! How the heck did that happen?!!?

For those of you who didn't see my bulletin, I mentioned that I have a California voicemail number that you can leave (Encouraging & love-filled) msgs on, that I can listen to from abroad. It's (818)748-9313. I'm also setting up a web-site cuz I need sponsors to help a po black girl get home. It will have PayPal attatched to it so you can chip in money. Yaaaay!!! That should be ready soon. I'll let you know. Check your bulletins, pleeeease!

Gotta go, I have to take the bus and I want to get home before the next storm.

Trying Again

Ok I'm gonna try this again. But since I'm on a computer at the library, I'm feeling rushed. I don't do well under those circumstances....

Anywhoo,

Sooo much has happened since the last official blog in January of this year.

Mom: Just 4 days after I wrote that blog, my mom died suddenly. The mourning process is a strange thing and is indescribable because its sooo different for each person. Let's just say, I'm dealing with it a little at a time.

Czech Republic: Yeeeeessss I'm still going. I'm working on my Visa papers right now. I'm planning on leaving some time in August. There are just a few more details to work out. I've been taking Czech lessons and that's been going pretty good....."vino nebo bevo?" ...and yes, I'll be hittin up EEEVERYONE for stuff and help before I go....so watch out!

Nay: My dah-ter (aka daughter!) Is living and driving on her own. She's sharing an apartment with friends, working full time and is a licensed driver!...yikes!..hold me!......She's also in a great relationship with a boy I love sooo much. Doing well.

Romance: Ugh! Don't get me started!....ok, get me started. Romance is similar to mourning...especially when you're mourning the death on one! What I'm dealing with now is something I absolutely HATE....(and I know hate is a very strong word) But I do, infact, hate this.... is the old, what I like to call: Ad lib fade out routine! What I mean by that is, when it seems like things are ok, maybe there's a little situation here or there, instead of just talkin about it and finding a solution or comming to some kind of agreement OR if someone in the "romance" is trippin on something, they just faaaaaaaaade on out of the picture INSTEAD of telling you what's wrong or having a simple discussion. I hate this because it's the wimpy way to terminate the "romance,relationship, or whatever you want to call it" and leave the other person without closure wondering "why?"

School: I had to stop my studies at LAMA at the 6month spot because I ran out of funds, but I learned a heck of a lot. Infact, I've been writing songs (lrics & music- hey isnt that a movie?) AND I've been doing some singing gigs.

Mom & Czech update

Hey all, I have to make this super quick cuz I'm at work. For those of you who know about the situation with my mom. Here's the update:

She's alive and well and right back here in California. I was able to bring her back the weekend of Christmas. Thanks for all your encouragement and prayers. She is still very delusional and hallucinates every now and then, but ever since the removal of her brain tumor, she's been quite pleasant and calm.

Czech update:

I am scheduled to begin my teaching contract this August 2007. A few weeks ago I was able to meet up with two teachers I'll be working with over there. I'm going to try and hook up with them and volunteer at the English summer camp that they do through an organization called Young Life. So soon you all with be getting letters from me with more detailed information regarding that.

My new doo....

I no longer have the long braids! (pause for a moment of silence...........)

..............ok, everyone, keep it together! I miss them too. BUT. It was time, they had to go...... to a place far, far away! (HELL! - jk) It was getting too expensive AND after 4 years, I really was desiring to go au-natural, AND I may be going to teach overseas which would make it difficult for good up-keep with the braids. This last time around, I replaced the braids myself and guess how long it took?......(give up?)

3 FREAKIN' WEEKS!!!! with much blood, sweat & tears ( and I don't mean the music group either!...uh oh, I'm revealing my age!...)

Anyhoo, I'm workin the the dreds now and as soon as I can post my dang pictures from England ya'll can see the new doo. I don't know how long I'll keep the doo, but it's what I have for now.

Dope Pt. II

Ok here's the deal....I'm still a dope because now I'm trying to post pics from my recent trip to England and it ain't happanin'. HELP!!! would somebody pleeeease show me how to use a freakin' computer! I've been clickin' and pokin' and proddin' this thing for the past 20 mins!! AAAaargh!!
